How You Are Totally Unique5 min read

How you are totally unique remains a great wonder of the universe. With 8 billion people on earth, you remain absolutely and totally unique. Yet, the wonder is that you are like a piece of a jigsaw puzzle. No one can take your place. You are an exact fit for where you are.

Our Abilities Make Us Unique

Man has the unique ability to think, learn, communicate and is able to improve his environment. God, who made us in His image, gifted us with high intelligence, cognition and the capacity for reasoning. Besides all that we are gifted with being able to solve difficult problems and have introspection. We are able to uniquely express our thoughts and feelings.

You have the ability to abstract thinking and conceptualize ideas and able to gain a concept of a loving Heavenly Father, aided by the power of the Holy Spirit. You have the ability to worship your Creator.

Physical Uniqueness

Our uniqueness is also physical. We all have uniquely shaped ears, structure of the teeth, and pattern of veins in hand and arms. Our footprints are as unique as our fingerprints. Then there is the unique iris of the eye, also the retina at the back of the eye. Even your palm print, toe print, bite pattern and knee print are all unique. Then, there is your unique DNA.

What more do you need to prove that out of all the people who have ever lived, you are totally unique? Could you make billions of differences to a product? Yet, our loving Heavenly Father does and keeps on doing so, besides giving each of us the ability to sense and wonder about the world around us. We truly are wonderfully and fearfully made, Psalm 139:14-16.

Uniquely Part of God’s Eternal Plan

More than all that, you are part of God’s eternal plan that was formed before the foundation of the earth. God knew you when you were formed in your mother’s womb, Jeremiah 1:5. Your name was written in the Lamb’s Book of Life before the foundation of the world, Revelation 13:8.

No one can take your place in God’s eternal plan. You are totally unique and only you can follow the path and plan God has for your life.

Personal Relationship With God

God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ to take the just judgement on our sin, and to give us eternal life, John 3:16. As a sinner we are doomed to eternal death and don’t deserve to be a citizen of heaven. However, through the Son we have the sure promise of eternal life, 1John 5:13, and called to have a unique relationship with God. When you arrive in heaven among millions and millions of saints, you will still have that unique relationship with God.

Paul says you are already seated in heavenly places, Ephesians 2:6. A place that is uniquely yours, for your name will not be blotted out of the Book of Life, Revelation 3:5.

Temple of God

More than that, God designed redeemed man to be the Temple of the Spirit of God, 1 Corinthians 6:19. Jesus said, ‘If anyone loves Me he will keep my Word and My Father will love him. We will come to him and make Our dwelling with him, John 14:23. This has to be one of the most awesome verses in scripture, for the Great I Am Who I Am, Exodus 3:14, desires to dwell in His people in a covenantal relationship.

Satan and his cohorts are our arch enemy. They lie to us about the power and wonder of our Creator, just as Satan lied to Eve in the Garden of Eden, Genesis 3 1. Yet, when sin entered the entire human race God instantly gave the eternal promise of our salvation, Genesis 3:15. He also announced the eternal damnation of our enemy.

Satan’s Desire

We live in a war zone where daily we need to fight the good fight, 1 Timothy 6:12, but we are not on our own. Our loving Heavenly Father goes before us and is with us, Deuteronomy 31:8.

Satan’s plan is to harass and annoy you until you divert away from the plan God has for your life. Satan lies to you that what you are going through is all God’s fault. However, Satan cannot operate outside God’s permission, Job 2:6 God permits whatever fiery trial or testing you are going through. They are tests to bring you to a place of total trust in Him, for faith alone pleases God, Hebrews 11:6.

More than that, God knows the end from the beginning, Isaiah 46:10. God knows all about what you face long before it happens. He also knows how you will cope and whether you will turn to Him or trust in your own strength. God knows how you will come out the other side, for He promises that joy comes in the morning, Psalm 30:5. He walks with you through every trial and test.

Totally Uniquely You

Just as you are totally unique in every way, so you are like Israel, uniquely inscribed in the palm of the Father’s hand, Isaiah 49:16. There are many promises unique to Israel but the believer is grafted into the olive tree, Romans 11:7.

Be encouraged today that you are uniquely a son of the living God, Romans 8:14. He knows every step you make, every breath you take, every difficulty you face. He loves you and the absolute uniqueness He created. No one can take your place. You are part of God’s eternal plan, the Pearl of Great Price. You are totally unique.
