To know seedtime and harvest is to know the signs of the times, Matthew 24:32,33 – we are living in the end of time age where the fields are white unto harvest, John 4:34.

Everlasting Plan

There are three things that cannot be retrieved:

• Spent time
• The fired arrow
• The spoken word.

God’s plan and word are eternal and guarantees a harvest from the seed that is sown by Him. His Seed – His Harvest.

The prophet wrote, So will My word be, which goes forth from My mouth. It will not return to Me empty without accomplishing what I desire. And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it, Isaiah 55:11.

Prophetic Word

God always plants the seed of what is to come. Surely the Lod God does nothing – Unless He reveals His secret counsel to His servants the prophets, Amos 3:7.

With prophecy, there is mostly:

• A minor fulfillment
• And a major fulfillment.

When David wrote Psalm 22 he would have had no idea of the fulfillment of those words.

Did Mary know she was fulling the prophecy of Isaiah 7:14?

Nothing Accidental

God, who made man from the dust of the earth, Genesis 2:7 – planted a seed in Mary’s womb Matthew 1:18. That seed was the Word and the Word became flesh and was born for one purpose only.

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him, 2 Corinthians 5:21.

That word was eternal – Jesus was the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world, Revelation 13:8.

This Generation

There are seasons for seedtime and harvest. God’s timing plays an important role in that timing – there is a fullness of time when a prophecy is fulfilled, Galatians 4:4.

Jesus said we would know the signs of the times just as we can read the weather when the sky is red and threatening, Matthew 16:2. This generation has the privilege of seeing many of the end of times prophecies being fulfilled.  

God Plants – God Reaps

God plants the seed – Seed that does not produce an instant harvest.

Seeds:

• Germinate
• Grow
• Yield a harvest.

There is a time in the life of every believer – until we attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God. To a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fulness of Christ, Ephesians 4:13.

Growing Pains

There are growing pains in any forward movement. Do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, as though some strange thing were happening to you, 1 Peter 4:12.

What Satan designs for evil, God uses to bring about a good result, Genesis 50:20.

Never quit when the going gets tough. God has a purpose in those growing pains – He reveals more and more of Himself to us.

Types of Ground

Jesus told a parable of a sower who went out to sow seed, Mark 4. As the seed was thrown it fell on different types of ground.

• Hard ground – no penetration
• Rocky ground – no deep roots
• Thorny ground – young plant choked.

Finally seed fell on good ground, grew and yielded a crop. Yet, still there were differences in the yield:

• Thirty-fold
• Sixty-fold
• Hundred-fold.

Our Reaction

We have vastly different reactions to the Word of God, depending on where we are with the Almighty I Am That I Am, Exodus 3:3.

All accept or reject God’s right of ownership over His creation 1 Peter 2:9. We have a free will, which God does not violate.

Our reaction to the Word of God defines who we are in Christ – but we are a work in progress, Isaiah 64:8.

Which Yield?

We have a say in the amount of yield the seed produces.  We can respond to God and yield only 30-fold.

We can press into God and yield a 60-fold return – living as kings and priests.

Or we can move on, yielding all to him – producing 100-fold return.

This is all about Him and nothing of self – entering the narrow gate, Matthew 7:13,14.

How to Know Seedtime and Harvest

When the crop is ready to harvest the ripe ears of grain bow their head towards the earth – as if in submission to the reaper.

Only the tares remain standing tall and straight, Matthew 13:24-30. 

How yielded are we:

• To be harvested
• And to harvest?

Our Responsibility

Not only are we responsible for the yield in our own life – we have a responsibility to those around us. We are to:

• Love without restriction
• Sow seed by actions and words
• Let God bring in the harvest.

Your Personal Affirmation

Lord, may I be a faithful receiver and sower of your word.

May the Holy Spirit bring forth the harvest you desire in my life

May I share your word with others, Your Way.
