Who is The Total Man?6 min read

The total Man is seated at the right hand of the Father. When Jesus walked among men on earth, He was total Man and total God. He did not lay aside His deity but chose to operate as the Total Man He was. He was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God, John 1:1. The Word became flesh and dwelt among men, John 1:14.

Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever, Hebrews 13:8. He lived and died as a man, but rose victorious and is seated at the right hand of the Father, Hebrews 10:12. Therefore, forever He will be the Total Man and Total God who sits in the seat of power in heaven. He is what Adam could never be.

Total Authority

At the Cross Jesus took back the authority that Satan had taken off Adam by default. That was why Satan, who is the prince of the power of the air, Ephesians 2:2, could offer the Man Christ, the kingdoms of the earth, Matthew 4:8,9.

That no longer applies, for at Calvary Jesus, the Man, was given the right to all authority in heaven and on earth, Matthew 28:18. Satan is no more than a liar and a thief,

Mortality Touches Immortality

Mary found the risen Lord in the garden but He told her ‘Stop clinging to Me for I have not yet ascended to the Father’, John 20:17. What an amazing statement that is. The mortal was able to cling to the immortal.

Jeus invited doubting Thomas to touch His hands and put his hand into the risen Master’s side, John 20:27.

The risen Christ proved to His close followers that He was real and still wore the imprints of His sacrifice on Calvary. That is why He is our High Priest of the order of Melchizedek, appointed by God, Hebrews 5:10. He has passed through the heavens as our forerunner, Hebrews 4:14.

Fellow-Heirs

Not only does a perfect Man sit on God’s throne, but we are fellow-heirs with that Man, Romans 8:17. What belongs to the Total Man also belongs to us. He is the Son of God and upon acceptance of His atoning death, we become adopted into the kingdom of God and become sons of God accepted into the Beloved, Ephesians 1:6.

That is such power behind the statement, what you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven. And what you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven, Matthew 18:18. We operate in the authority of the Total Man, Jesus Christ.

Loosing and Binding

We are given the keys of the kingdom of heaven with heavenly authority to bind and loose everything that has already been done in heaven, Matthew 16:19. Where God is there is no time, space, or matter as we know on earth. It is all ‘Now’ from eternity to eternity. That is something that is very difficult for the human mind to comprehend. Whatever will be has already happened.

The secret is to not only have faith in who Christ is, but to walk in His authority. Where we walk we loose the presence of God, with the authority to bind demonic powers. We have the authority to loose the peace of God and cast out demonic spirits.

Just as Jesus did the Father’s will, John 5:19. It is vital that we seek the face and will of the Father, and to ask the Father in the Name of the Son, John 16:23. God may choose to heal or He may have a different plan for that person. We are to pray in the faith that God’s will shall be done for it is already done in heaven. Look at things from God’s perspective, not our perspective.

The Deterant

God knows what is needed before we ask, Matthew 6:8. It is important that we don’t let self-desire, ambition, pride and ego get in the way. So often we want things to be done the way we see it. God’s ways are not our ways, nor His thoughts our thoughts, Isaiah 55:8. It is all too easy to let our ego get in the way, acting as if the way we see things is the only way.

God has a superior plan that is far higher than anything we could begin to imagine. For He knows the end from the beginning, Isaiah 46:10. We are to be servants of the great I Am that I Am, Exodus 3:3, but always remember that we only see through a glass dimly and only know in part, 1 Corinthians 13:12. We need to constantly ask the Holy Spirit to check our motives and pray earnestly for His leading, that our lives might glorify the One who gave His all for us.

Judgement

Our human trait is that we are quick to judge a situation. However, all situations are like icebergs. We can only see a tiny portion while the rest is hidden from our view.

God alone knows the entire thing and has plans we know nothing about. Satan may know a whole lot of things, but he too only has limited knowledge. Even Jesus said only the Father knows the day and hour of Christ’s return, Matthew 24:36.

The Key

We miss the mark when we take our eyes off who the victorious Christ is and lean to our own understanding, Proverbs 3:5. Our walk in Christ is all about the amount of faith we have in our Saviour, for in Him we live and move and exist, Acts 17:28.

It is vital we stop jumping to conclusions, but lean on our Lord and ask the Holy Spirit to guide us. Without faith it is impossible to please God, Hebrews 11:6. Faith that everything that is Christ, is what we are fellow-heirs of. This is the wonder of the ‘Divine Exchange’. He gave His all that we might give our all to Him, for we are not our own, we were bought with a price, 1 Corinthians 6:19.20.

The Total Man

Jesus the Word, became flesh and dwelt among us, John 2:14. Christ, the Man died in our place that He might redeem fallen man. The Total Man rose victorious from the grave and is seated at the right hand of the Father, Hebrews 10:12.

He left His home in glory but returned the victorious Man Christ. He is the Lamb slain before the foundation of the earth, Revelation 5:12. Christ’s death was not ‘Plan B’ when Adam sinned, Genesis 3. Jesus was always Total Man and always Total God and will be forever for He is the same yesterday, today and forever, Hebrews 13:8.
