Why do I Need God?

Why do I Need God – Foolishness or Fantasy?7 min read

People ask “Why do I need God?” Many disbelieve in the actual existence of a Heavenly father. “Heaven and hell are just myths to frighten naughty children. Why do I need God? I control my own destiny. Believing in some Almighty God is foolishness”.

History proves that no good thing can come from such an egotistical attitude, for yes, we do control our own destiny. Signs that the end is near are all around us. Even nonbelievers are aware that mankind is on a self-destruct road.

Man Still Wants Self-sufficiency

Mankind still believes it is self-sufficient, just as it did in the days of Noah and the time of the Tower of Babel. In the time of the Judges, ‘Every man did what was right in his own eyes’, Judges 21:25.

All this proves that we are only repeating what has gone before and we have learnt nothing from history. We are so egotistical we believe we can be as God, just as Adam did in the Garden of Eden, Genesis 3. Why do we need any outside help, for we can save ourselves.

Man has come full circle, with the vast majority turned away from God. Many try to say there is no God, but you can’t say you don’t believe in something unless you first believe it.

Knowledge Increases

Around 2200 years ago the prophet prophesied that knowledge would increase, Daniel 12:4. In the 1940s it took around 25 years for knowledge to double. Now it doubles every 12 hours.

Working in tandem with AIs, man can reach heights he never imagined, just like they did in Babel, Genesis 11:1-9, when they had a common language. The thought of building a huge tower would not only save them from another flood, and prove their superiority, but make them more godlike. They used the might of the many for the common good. Today we call it herd-mentality. If everyone is doing it, it must be okay.

As in the Days of Noah

In the days of Noah mankind scoffed and asked “Why do I need God?” Jesus said, ‘As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the coming of the Son of Man’, Matthew 24:37—39. Society was in moral decline. Lawlessness, violence and bloodshed were the norm, with total disregard for human life.

In America around 316 people are shot daily in murders, suicides, intentional and unintentional shootings. According to the United Nations a quarter of the world’s population live in conflict-affected areas, and this increases daily.

Humankind has become like the frog in the pot, that doesn’t know the warming water will kill it. Many devote themselves to deceitful spirits and the teachings of demons, 1Timothy 4:1. AIs can develop ‘sacred text’ in minutes, that people will take as ‘gospel’. Even the elect will be deceived, Matthew 24:24. The beast, or false prophet of Revelation 13:11 would be well suited to be an AI.

Moral Decay

Society has dipped into moral decay that was unthinkable even twenty years ago. Children are being taught to choose their own sex before they even reach an age of understanding. This and many other things show that society has gone back to the way it was in the days of Noah.

God placed the rainbow as a sign of His everlasting covenant with man, Genesis 9:6. He would never again destroy the earth by water, Genesis 9:11. A sign that is also seen as a circle around the throne of God, though that is green, Revelation 4:3.

The rainbow symbolises that God is a covenant keeping God even though He is about to bring a judgement upon the earth, such as has never before been seen. It is called the Great Tribulation, or Jacob’s Trouble.

The sign of the rainbow has been used on the flag of the LGBT, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community since the 1970s. We live in perilous times, where evil is called good and good is called evil, Isaiah 5:20, and Satan is the great counterfeiter.

The Restrainer

Apostle Paul spoke of a restrainer, 2 Thessalonians 2:6,7. This ‘one’ holds back the advance of the Antichrist, preventing the satanic kingdom from overwhelming the world. This restrainer is the true church led by the Holy Spirit. The day is close when the true church will be taken out, 1 Thessalonians 4:7. The Antichrist will rise to full power and all hell will break loose. As it was in the Days of Noah, only worse.

Noah preached his heart out, yet no one listened. It took many years to build the ark and Noah and his family became the centre of mockery and ridicule. Building a massive boat when people didn’t even know what rain was, as the earth was watered by a mist, Genesis 2:6. Noah and his family would have been an entertaining tourist destination. People poured into the area to jeer at the madman and his family, as human nature is always fascinated by oddities. Front row seats would have fetched a handsome price, particularly when the animals started arriving two by two.

The population of Noah’s day is estimated to have been around 750 million. Yet, they refused to acknowledge Noah’s dire warning of pending disaster. How did they feel when it finally began to rain? What was their reaction as the flood waters overwhelmed them? Eight persons out of 750 million. If the Lord Jesus Christ returned tonight, how many would be saved out of nearly 8 billion?

Global ControlWhy do I need God?

It’s not just that people ask why do I need God there are unseen forces at work.

WHO, the World Health Organization, is a specialized agency of United Nations with 194 member states. It has a broad mandate for providing leadership on all global health matters and shaping the health research agenda. It sets norms and standards globally, while providing technical support to countries. WHO monitors and assesses health trends.

WHO directs and coordinates the world’s response to health emergencies, while promoting healthier living conditions. This involves everything from pregnancy care through to old age. Member states have finally agreed to yield their constitutional authority to WHO. This includes America and sounds great until you dig deeper.

WHO has drawn sharp criticism over its deference to Beijing and the way it handled the COVID-19 pandemic. Beijing steers WHO, which receives funding from China, being the second largest donor. WHO also depends on the Communist country on many different levels.

China kept reporting only a few daily, new cases of COVID, so WHO did not declare the coronavirus a pandemic until March 11. Yet weeks before, the disease had become a global catastrophe.

Why do I Need God- Foolishness or Fantasy?

WHO is just one area of global control by one entity. Another is the World Government Summit that is held annually.

What else is hidden in the shadows, in a world where mankind asks “Why do I need God? I will rule my own destiny. I will be totally self-sufficient and my own god. Talk of hell is just a myth designed to frighten naughty kids”. Does that sound familiar, Isaiah 14:13,14?

The floods of judgement are coming and the signs are all around us. Soon the true church will be gone. The time of Jacob’s Trouble is on the horizon when Israel will be called back to God to finally accept His Messiah. Israel always was and is the centre of the God’s plan. Gentiles are merely grafted in, Romans 11:11.

When these things come to pass, then look up and lift your heads, for your redemption draws nigh, Luke 21:28. While many ask “Why do I need God?”, it is a time for every believer to be of strong courage.
