The amazing secret of worship is that it has far more power than most people realize. It is where intimacy with God transforms the soul from the inside out – the ultimate Divine Exchange.

Authentic Worship

Authentic worship comes not from knowledge, or from emotions. It can only come from the depths of our identity – who we truly are. It’s the place where we worship God in spirit and in truth, John 4:24. A sincere expression of ‘Now’ faith, Hebrews 11:1, in the great I Am That I Am, Exodus 3:14.

True worship is an atmosphere of basking in the presence of God. It aligns the worshipper’s heart, mind, and spirit toward God in truth, love, surrender and earnest communion. It:

• Softens the heart
• Renews perspective
• Restores peace
• Increases spiritual awareness – revelation
• Re-centres your identity in God and refines the inner perception.

Authentic worship brings heaven down to earth – let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, Matthew 6:10. Heaven is a place of worship, Isaiah 6:3; Revelation 4:8-10.

Worship Changes You

What a man believes in his heart is what he is, Proverbs 23:7. You become like what you behold – that which consistently captures your:

• Admiration
• Focus
• Attention.

What you continually look to, becomes the pattern you begin to reflect. It shapes your thoughts, desires and actions, because what rules your heart, directs your formation.

Spiritual Transformation

Spiritual transformation redirects so that you live from truth rather than distortion, for Satan is the father of lies, John 8:44.

Inner perception changes a person, before it changes circumstances around them. What fills the inner world eventually manifests itself through character and how you interact with the world around you. 

Worship is not:

• Behaviour modification
• External, or self-imposed discipline
• Intellectual – it is experiential.

True worship is standing alone and naked before God – honouring who He is. There are no veils in true worship under the New Covenant.

The Depth

We were created in the image of God, Genesis 2:27, and worship is where we reflect who we really are for worship is central to spiritual transformation. It is where we are brought into harmony with the Word of God – yielded to Divine Reality.

As transformation deepens you begin to:

• Embody peace
• Gain clarity
• Know your authority in Christ
• Show genuine compassion towards others
• Show that integrity is natural – not effort alone.

First Commandment

The foremost commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength, Mark 12:30. That is to become still and know that He is God in everything, Psalm 46:10, and worthy of our worship and love, Revelation 4:11.

Worship takes your eyes off circumstances which will pass, onto the unchangeable truth of eternity and all that God is.

True worship cultivates:

• Humility – worship softens what pride hardens
• Deep inner peace – stability
• A way of life – being
• True gratitude and thankfulness
• Surrender of all to a higher and perfect Authority
• Increased faith through relationship
• Increased sensitivity to the presence of the indwelling Holy Spirit
• Spiritual maturity, – growing into the stature of the fulness that belongs to Jesus Christ, Ephesians 4:13

To live as a true worshipper is to no longer live for self. Not controlled by:

• Self-protection
• Self-reliance
• Self-exaltation
• Self-definition apart from God.

You are not controlled by memories of the past, or fear of the unknown future that is coming toward you. You live in the generous present moment with the ‘now’ God.

In Worship:

• Control is surrendered
• Dependence becomes strength
• Pride is exposed
• Heart is anchored in the eternal.

Worship often precedes breakthrough, as body and soul are brought under the control of the spirit. True worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. For such people the Father seeks to be His worshippers. God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth, John 4:23, 24.

Be Still

To know authentic worship is to be still, empty yourself of you and let the Holy Spirit fill you with all His fulness Ephesians 1:23. It is the place where you are restored, replenished with His strength and healed. It is where we know the full authority of what God created us for – fellowship with Him. Fellowship and relationship that reaches into eternity.

True worshippers cannot:

• Believe one thing and live another reality
• Know the truth and feel disconnected
• Be ruled by fear or self-egotism.

In the stillness of worship there is no more striving but abiding in communion with Him who gave His life that we might live. It is the place where we ‘dwell’— the Most Holy Place.

True Fulfillment

Authentic worship humbles the believer as they know they are in the presence of the great I Am that I Am, Exodus 3:14. It is giving of oneself in response to Divine Love that was given before the foundation of the world, Revelation 13:8.

Worship then is relational – not transactional. This results in:

• The heart aligning with truth
• Recognizing your true identity – sonship and belonging
• Knowing full access to the loving Heavenly Father through Christ
• Life flowing from presence and union.

Jesus prayed in John 17, just before His crucifixion. He said He was no longer in the world, 11. He prayed that we may all be one, even as You Father are in Me and I in You, that they may also be in Us, v21.

Worship unites us with the Almighty and we find our true fulfilment – we are God’s own possession, 1 Peter 2:9. With the deepest desire to do only the will of God – awakened to who you were created to be.

Power of Worship

In the scriptures worship:

• Broke open prison cells
• Defeated enemies
• Restored courage
• Brought freedom

Darkness is only the absence of light having no substance of its own. Worship is light in a world darkened by the depths of sin. The place where God’s Light, John 8:12, pours into the depths of your being, transforming you into His image. That is the Power of Worship. 

The Amazing Secret of Worship

The aamazing secret of worship is that it is not merely part of spiritual transformation – it is one of the primary environments where transformation happens.

Worship then is:

• Awareness of the relationship – adopted onto the Kingdom of God
• Alignment with divine reality – eager to do God’s will
• Dwelling in His presence – a way of life
• Wholeness from union – no longer separation and alienation
• Abiding in the Generous Present Moment – for God is a ‘Now’ God who dwells beyond time, space and matter.

In worship you know the reality of ‘when you were dead in your trespasses you were already seated in heavenly places’, Ephesians 2:6, for God knows the end from the beginning, Isaiah 46:10. True worshippers have all of heaven’s privileges and spiritual blessings, Ephesians 1:3-14. They live in spiritual awareness for God dwells within, John 14:23, and they have a heart awakened to God’s reality. A transformed life becomes worship and worship brings revival.
